This page explains what personal data Summiteer Media collects through this website and when you get in touch, what we do with it, and what your rights are. We've kept it short.
Who we are
Summiteer Media Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We're registered in England and Wales, company number 16163448, with our registered office at 5 Farm Road, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, WD3 5QA. You can reach us at louis@summiteermedia.com.
We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZB957599.
What we collect
- When you book a call: your name, email address and anything you add to the booking form, such as your brand or what you'd like to talk about. Bookings are handled by Calendly.
- When you email or call us: your contact details and whatever you include in the message.
- When you browse the site: our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this to identify you.
- When we contact you first: we sometimes email people at ecommerce brands about our services, using their business contact details. We find these on company websites and LinkedIn, or through Apollo, a business contact database.
We don't sell personal data.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To arrange calls, reply to you and send proposals. This is either a step you've asked us to take before a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- To do the work if you become a client. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To email businesses about our services. This is our legitimate interest. Every email tells you how to opt out, and we stop when you ask.
- To run the website and keep it secure. This is our legitimate interest.
- To keep records the law requires, such as accounts. This is a legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and video hosting
- Calendly: call booking
- Google Workspace: email and documents
- Brevo: sending emails
- Apollo: finding business contact details
- YouTube: client interview videos, only if you press play
Some of these suppliers are based outside the UK, mainly in the US. Where personal data leaves the UK, it's protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK-US data bridge) or by standard contractual clauses.
We may also share data with professional advisers, such as our accountant, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and calls that don't lead to work: up to two years after we were last in touch.
- Client records: while we work together, then six years for tax and accounting purposes.
- Businesses we've emailed first: until you ask us to stop, or two years without a reply.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. You can object to marketing emails at any time. Emaillouis@summiteermedia.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
